Georgia Governor Nathan Deal signed House Bill 280 into law Thursday, May 4. The law goes into effect July 1.

The Georgia Tech Police Department (GTPD) will host an information session this week related to the upcoming implementation of House Bill 280, which goes into effect July 1 and allows licensed gun owners to carry concealed firearms on campus.

In anticipation of the July 1 implementation date for the new state law allowing licensed gun owners to carry weapons on public college campuses, Georgia Tech leaders held an information session with the campus community June 14.
