
Emergency Response & Public Safety
- Respond to all law enforcement calls for service across campus.
- Provide first-responder medical care during medical emergencies and assist emergency medical services in reaching those in need.
- Address fire alarms, hazardous materials incidents, burglary/panic alarms, and other safety threats.
- Respond to mental health crises to de-escalate situations and connect individuals with appropriate resources.
- Investigate suspicious behavior, criminal activity, and incidents by collecting evidence, interviewing witnesses, and supporting victims and survivors.
Community Support
- Offer safety escorts (by foot or vehicle) for faculty, staff, students and guests.
- Provide assistance to stranded motorists.
- Perform welfare checks on students, staff, faculty, and guests to ensure their physical and mental well-being.
- Partner with community groups to uphold campus values and build trust through transparent outreach.
Crime Prevention & Campus Patrol
- Actively patrol campus and nearby areas to deter, detect, and address criminal activity.
- Educate the community on safety practices, crime prevention tips, and hazard awareness.
- Conduct proactive traffic enforcement to promote safe driving and reduce crime — including the use of automated license plate readers to detect threats.
- Investigate and document motor vehicle accidents.
Additional Support
- Manage traffic flow during large campus events and sporting activities.
- Support victims involved in incidents and connect them with helpful resources.
- Collaborate with fire departments and hazmat teams to ensure coordinated emergency responses.
- Document and report all criminal activity and noteworthy incidents on or near campus.
- Process arrests according to the nature of the offense and in cooperation with the local arrest diversion program, Atlanta City Jail, or Fulton County Jail.
